It’s yet another Monday, and Monday is always the perfect time to plan out your week. Planning what your goals for the weeks are is extremely important, since it not only makes you think about your goals, set realistic deadlines and get motivated to stick to them, but also gives you a great excuse to reward yourself during the weekend. Small indulgences are always sweeter when we have a reason for them. So here are a few tips on how to go about planning your week.
1. Take the time to plan everything out
First of all, take the time. It probably won’t take you more than fifteen minutes, so don’t say you don’t have the time to plan. You can do it during your coffee break.
2. Review what you’ve accomplished last week
Have you completed everything that was on your to-do list? Why not? Do you lack time or motivation?
3. Visualize the big picture
Close your eyes and imagine yourself five years from now. Are you at the same place as you are right now? Has your life improved? Are you doing anything about it now, or are you planning to start working on your big plans some day? What can you do about it this week, right now?
4. Set specific tasks and estimate the time it will take to complete them
Be realistic. Even if you already have a whole list of things you want to do in your mind, pick just a few tasks and decide to do them this week. Estimate the time and plan everything else accordingly.
5. Schedule all your tasks
Include all your obligations, appointments, dates and everyday chores. Then take a look at the time you have remaining and fill it with your personal goals that will help you get to that place you see yourself at in five years.
