Winter Weekends

It’s time for our favorite winter activities again. Well, I know it’s technically not winter just yet, but once those warm October colors turn into a greyish kind of mush, it’s winter time for me.

I actually like winter very much, but to be honest, what I like about it most is the fact that I finally have an excuse to stay inside and engage in my favorite indoor activities. So this year, I’ve decided to make a todo list of everything I want to do and try out this winter. But to keep myself from getting too lazy, I’ll pick one indoor and one outdoor activity for each and every weekend.

This week, I picked these two things.

1. The Great Indoors: Learn to knit or crochet

Well, I know at first sight it seems rather boring and old-fashioned, but it’s actually really fun and even useful. There’s nothing more relaxing on a cold day than sitting comfortably in your favorite chair, drinking some hot chocolate, listening to music and trying to learn to knit or crocket. Yes, it does take a great deal of patience, but the outcome is totally worth it. From now on, you’ll be able to say “I made that myself, you know”. And if you’re already thinking about DIY Christmas presents, a homemade scarf, hat or mittens are always a nice gift.

2. The Great Outdoors: Go on a hike

I know… Who wants to go on a hike in this weather? Well, in case haven’t received your first shipment of snow yet, take advantage of that and go for probably the last autumn hike this year. Get some fresh air and much needed exercise, since the upcoming season is really not in favor of you staying fit and athletic.

Make sure you put this on your favorite todo list, and if you don't have one yet, make sure you try out Tasknik!
